Something big happened on Mars at Jezero Crater. Thinking about it and curious about topography, I found an image at NASA taken by instruments on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter during the search for potential future landing sites. It was published with presumptive color and that gave me the big idea. This painting went through several dead ends toward this abstract and more colorful version. The dark cavity at low center is Jezero. Stay tuned for something far more important and beautiful begun in human imagination and fulfilled by scientific knowledge and endeavor. Thank you NASA, everyone who worked on Ingenuity, the Mars Helicopter, and an amazing technology project.
