Iris is the goddess who crossed the Rainbow Bridge to deliver messages to the gods. This old-fashioned floral beauty has grown in my gardens for decades; honored with the Dykes award long ago, it's one of my favorites. Each bloom represents a gift of love and caring given to a favorite person, bringing with it a message to brighten the day. I call it Edith's Love Note though I hope you might change the goddess’s name to one of your own choosing, perhaps to give with affection to someone you care about, or to keep for its glowing petals for yourself. Along with a small bee pollinator hidden among the details, it's a reminder that the everyday small things are often the most important.
