The one-of-a-kind, original piece. My most exclusive offering for collectors

For two decades I've only sold originals to those who commissioned the work, including dozens of personal portraits of people and their pets, as well as airplanes, scenic gardens, and family homes. My intimate floral macros, landscapes and seascapes, architecture and more recently the abstracts have sold as standard and limited edition prints.

As my art productivity ramped up over the past year, I've decided it's time to sell my non-commission originals that don't fit in our new home. It's a hard decision to make because I love them all. Owning them has kept me close to the times and places that inspired them and that I want to always remember. Many artist friends tell me they too have trouble parting with originals--we put so much of ourselves into each one. My plan is to begin in mid-April with announcements in all the usual channels.

So I'm clearing the decks and gaining more room by releasing some originals a few at a time.  The hardest part was deciding where to start and Mother's Day 2022 is the incentive I needed to make a beginning. And another new painting is on the drying rack, on heavyweight, cold-press art paper. Not sure if I should leave it whole or cut it in half to mount in two equal side-by-side squares as shown above. It's called Spring Wood, a collage of yellow locust flower branches against an early morning sky.
